While browsing a garage sale high up in the Colorado mountains, I stumbled across a stack of old wooden windows and immediately knew they’d make perfect “frames” for painted scenes viewed through the glass.
For my very first one, I painted a curious black bear peering straight in at the viewer, paws planted on the panes as if he’d just wandered up and was trying to get a better look inside. What made this window extra special was the authentic bullet hole already in the glass — a little wild Colorado character I decided to keep. It adds the perfect touch of rugged history and makes you wonder what stories this old window could tell!
