U.S. Data Centers: 5,426 China: 449
The truth? America already has more data centers than the rest of the world combined. We are not losing the race – we’re lapping the field. [1] [2]
Let’s do the math:
China has 1.42 billion people USA has 347 million people (China has ~4× more people)
USA has 5,426 data centers China has only 449
Per person:
- 1 data center for every 64,000 Americans
- 1 data center for every 3.2 million Chinese
Simple way to say it: The average American is 50 times more likely to have a data center “nearby” than the average Chinese.
President Trump wants even more AI data centers and he wants to Super-Size them into water and electricity guzzling mega monsters. This will make Big Tech and the Federal Government even more powerful and centralized – FASCISM.

Trump is charging full speed ahead with a new executive order to steamroll his AI agenda (the same one he started in the “Big Beautiful Bill”). This time he’s hitting even harder: he wants to create a federal “AI Litigation Task Force” whose sole mission is to sue any state that dares slow down his plans. [3] [4]
In his own words on Truth Social:
“We MUST have one Federal Standard instead of a patchwork of 50 State Regulatory Regimes…or China will easily catch us in the AI race.”
That post wasn’t just talk. It’s the blueprint. The leaked draft executive order is the “Plan B” if Congress won’t play along.
Here’s the brutal reality in plain English:
This executive order designates AI data centers a “national-security emergency,” branding any state laws shielding citizens from deepfakes, job-killing automation, algorithmic bias, or land grabs as direct threats to America if they slow or hinder deployment.
Trump’s plan to crush resistance:
- Creates a taxpayer-funded legal SWAT team to drag states into court
- Lets federal agencies yank billions in broadband and grant money from any state that won’t obey
- Orders the FCC, FTC, and Commerce Department to wipe out “conflicting” state rules within 90 days
Remember the Big Beautiful Bill that poured billions into giant AI data centers? An early version banned states from passing ANY AI safety laws for 10 full years. After massive public outrage, that clause was ripped out and many celebrated a rare victory. But others warned that he might slip the same provision into a defense budget plan in the future or take action through an executive order.
Sure enough, just months later on July 23rd Trump signed an “Executive Order AI Action Plan” threatening to starve “non-compliant” states of federal funds. Now he’s dropping the pretense entirely and weaponizing the courts and the purse strings to force total surrender.
This isn’t about beating China. It’s a naked federal power grab that guts the 10th Amendment and hands Big Tech a get-out-of-jail-free card forever. States are the last line of defense between you and a future where AI can lie, discriminate, fire you, surveil and track your every move without consequence. Big Tech already has the government money and now they will have the courts.
If Washington wins this round states’ rights become null and void, the Constitution gets shredded, and the digital noose tightens around every single one of us.
