In this opinion piece, I propose a hypothesis about one of the factors contributing to the chaos, confusion, and mayhem in our society. While not a psychologist, I combine common sense with the dictionary definition of psychosis to explore a single piece of a complex societal puzzle.
In George Orwell’s 1984, the main character, Winston Smith, is tortured/brainwashed by the government/Big Brother/the Party to say that 2+2=5. The government is trying to break his perception of reality. The Party’s goal is to create a psychological state where truth is entirely relative, subject to their authority, ensuring that individuals accept the Party’s version of reality, no matter how absurd. This is part of their broader plan to maintain total power by making objective truth irrelevant, which puts Winston into a state of psychosis and easier to manipulate.
Psychosis is a mental health condition characterized by a disconnection from reality, where an individual experiences delusions/false beliefs,( i.e., a man can have a baby, tampons are needed in the men’s bathroom, a woman can become a man, a man can become a woman, right is wrong, wrong is right) and/or hallucinations (seeing, hearing, or sensing things that aren’t). It may also involve disorganized thinking, speech or behavior, making it difficult to distinguish what is real from what is not. In the context of 1984, the Party’s brainwashing/torture of Winston to accept 2+2=5 was designed to induce a state akin to psychosis, where his grasp of objective truth is shattered, and he accepts the Party’s manipulated reality as true.
Globalists, like Prince Philip and Klaus Schwab, view humans as a “cancer” on the earth.[1] They believe the repeated Malthusian lie taught in schools that the earth is unable to sustain current population levels. Prince Philip said, “If I were reincarnated, I would wish to return to Earth as a killer virus to lower human population levels.”[2] Another globalist who embraces depopulating the earth is Bill Gates. Whether it’s the globalists depopulation programs, an assassination of a popular icon like Charlie Kirk, or a church or school shooter driven by a trans agenda or another ideology, or an alleged MKUltra assassination plot targeting American citizens, all these scenarios reflect a “lifeboat” mindset where the perpetrators act as if they were God and have the authority to decide who lives and who dies.
You can trace this ideology several generations back in the United States to the public schools and even some private schools who taught and still do teach moral relativism through situational ethics using the lifeboat and other scenarios to distort truth. The students are taught to discard the Ten Commandments and create their own moral truth/commandments. The teacher is like their spirit guide (Not the Holy Spirit) who guides the students through the process.
Generations of students, brainwashed and emptied of the true moral code of: Thou shalt not kill, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not commit adultery etc., have graduated from the public school system. They have been taught that it is ok to kill unborn living human beings, and that they should not judge cultures that put their elderly on ice flows to die.
I know for a fact that moral relativism was taught back in the 1980’s in public schools. Almost forty years ago our eleven year old son came home from school and told me how his fellow students decided to kill off an old person, an infirm person and a handicapped person in a lifeboat scenario. I was shocked and asked him to describe what happened. First, he said that the teacher told the students to disregard what their parents taught them at home and that they could create their own moral truth. The students were given different scenarios and had to decide the outcomes by voting. Our son was subjected to two different scenarios :
Situational Ethic problem #1
There are eight people in a lifeboat but there is only enough food to keep five alive: A doctor, an athlete, a teacher, a scientist, a handicapped person, an elderly person, a sick person, and a child. Who should they kill or starve so the others could live. Our son was upset about the whole situation because the majority of his classmates had decided that the handicapped, the elderly and the sick people should die. I was appalled at what he had to go through. I asked my husband, “Do you think that they are programing a generation for rationed health care?” Now that I think about it, it was even more sinister. We told our son he was right to be upset about what his teacher put them through and what his classmates decided. It was a sin to condone killing or starving anybody on the lifeboat and they should all share and ration their food. If somebody decided to be like Jesus, they could give their life by giving up their share of the food. We told him that the teacher should have instructed them to find a way so that all the people on the lifeboat would survive by rationing the food, catching fish, putting up a canopy to shelter them from the sun, collecting rainwater, finding the kit with flare guns and emergency beacon and other life sustaining and rescue ideas. Instead, the sixth graders were put in a preprogramed box by the teacher and were forced to decide who should die and who should live. What the teacher put them through was so wrong. Momma Bear was stinking mad.

The lifeboat scenarios are still going on today. Teachers and school leaders have been defending them as an important part of education. In 2015, a shocking lifeboat scenario thrust upon some Florida eleven-year-olds sparked debate nationwide. The exercise presented sixth graders with a scenario involving a sinking yacht where only nine out of 15 people could be saved, requiring them to decide who should survive based on profiles that included race, gender, religion, and occupation. To add insult to injury the students then had to rank those they picked to survive in order of importance or preference so that if they ran low on food or water the least deserving would be tossed overboard.”[3]
MIDDLE SCHOOL LIFEBOAT TEST…
The following 15 people are on a yacht (a fancy boat).
The yacht developed a leak and is sinking fast.
There is only one lifeboat and only nine people will fit.
Not one more can fit and there are no more lifeboats or lifejackets.
You must come to an agreement as to which nine people you will save.
You must also list people in order of importance, because if they run out of food and water the less important people will have to be dumped over board.
You will have __ minutes to complete the activity.
Bonus: You will get bonus points if you write in complete sentences why you chose those people for the lifeboat.
…WHO WOULD YOU SAVE?
- A pregnant woman
- An ex-convict
- A guy doctor
- A girl doctor
- A black guy
- A white guy
- A Hispanic woman
- A minister
- Donald Trump
- Mr Hagerman (their teacher)
- Mr Bobo (a clown)
- A rabbi
- Barack Obama
- Justin Bieber
- A police officer
I know this is a very serious issue but you have to laugh when you see one student’s worksheet below. He eliminated his teacher, Mr. Hagerman from the lifeboat but included Mr. Bobo the clown.

Situational Ethic problem #2
Our son also experienced this situational ethics class activity:
You just lost your job. You have a wife and children to support. Is it ok to steal food for your family? Of course, the children decided it was ok to steal because you could not let your family starve. By presenting a grey area of right and wrong that should only be discussed by mature minds, this relativistic scenario opened the door to justify stealing for other reasons. We told our son, that in the United States there would be no reason to steal food. There is welfare which has the SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program,) and WIC (Women Infants and Children food program). The poor on these programs are given EBT (electronic benefits transfer) cards to buy food. There are also many churches that have food and soup kitchens. If any child is starving in the United States it is because their parents are selling their EBT cards and buying drugs instead of food.
We did not say this to our son, but have you noticed how many people on government programs are overweight? They may be poor but they definitely are NOT starving. Their grocery carts are stuffed while normal hard-working people must count their pennies when they shop. Interestingly, as a result of the students’ conclusion that stealing was ok, our son’s brand-new coat was stolen shortly thereafter. That year we had scrimped and saved to buy our son a brand-new coat from an actual store. Most all his clothes up until then were from garage sales or hand me downs from cousins. We were trying to save up to start a business. Sure enough, one of his fellow students stole his first ever brand-new store-bought coat. The student probably justified stealing because he perceived that such a nice coat belonged to a rich kid and he was poor. He justified that he deserved the nice coat. The rich kid could buy another one and won’t miss it, thus through moral relativistic reasoning stealing was also ok in this situation. We are raising generations of thieves! We all witnessed it during the Communist inspired BLM riots. They stole from their own black store owners and burned down black businesses. They had no moral conscience about who they hurt. Their actions showed no concept of right and wrong.
Situational Ethics Scenario #3:
A friend told me that her child was subjected to a situational ethics problem that went like this: You are the last people left alive because earth had been destroyed. (They are continually scaring the children, like they did to Greta Thunberg)

Because the earth is destroyed by your fellow human beings you are one of the few survivors on a rocket ship going to another planet to try to start a new life and civilization. You are depressed and do not want to live. The students had to decide if it was ok to commit suicide. The majority of children decided it was their “choice” to commit suicide. (Gee, where have we heard that word “choice” before?)
Instead of being taught to help a person through their depression they were put into a box by the teacher and forced to make a life and death decision. These are eleven-year-olds that they put through this evil practice. And we wonder why the suicide rate has increased in school children.
Plato, in his works like The Republic, emphasized a structured education system where young children are first taught foundational skills to instill virtue and discipline before introducing complex philosophical or moral issues. In The Republic (Books II-III), Plato recommended avoiding exposing young minds to morally ambiguous or confusing content that could distort their developing sense of justice and truth. He believed children need a firm grounding in simpler, clearer moral concepts before tackling nuanced or “grey” issues. The public schools are doing the opposite.
Around the world and in the United States children are being brainwashed that the earth cannot sustain its present population. The WHO Agenda 2030 Sustainable Development Plan is woven throughout the curriculum. I witnessed it in the curriculum back in the 1990’s. At that time, it was Agenda 21. Greta Thunberg is a prime example of a victim of their brainwashing through lies and fearmongering. Students are told that in order to save the earth they should not have children. They are told the earth will not survive unless we reach the goal of net zero carbon. (Never mind CO2 is crucial for life on earth and essential for photosynthesis.) They are being taught that they are their own god and can decide what gender they are despite how the real God created them. Charlie Kirk believed the opposite and promoted moral living and the nuclear family of husband, wife and children. Many liberals with an opposing relativistic viewpoint considered him as a threat that should be eliminated for the greater good. When Tyler Robinson kicked him off the proverbial lifeboat, we witnessed liberals and brainwashed youth celebrating his assassination without any remorse. The love of many has grown cold.
In summary, we are living in a morally relativistic culture where violence and murder are justified and becoming more frequent. Students have been taught that the end justifies the means if it is for the greater good. The Ten Commandments are banned from the public schools thus the teachers have the students create their own truth/commandments.
This is important:
Students have not been taught what truth really means. Truth is that which corresponds to reality, meaning it accurately reflects the way things actually are. Truth by definition is exclusive. The moment you are defining something as true you are excluding the opposite. Contradictory statements cannot both be true at the same time. In other words, a proposition and its denial cannot both be correct. According to the law of non-contradiction, “A” will never equal “not A”. Truth doesn’t care about your feelings or opinion.
My Hypothesis: The moral relativistic teaching in public schools that teaches students that everyone can create their own competing truths can result in immorality, confusion, chaos, psychosis and can even lead some to commit murder.
So where does that leave us? What should we do?
Pull your children out of public schools and homeschool or find a good academic and moral private school where God’s truth is taught. There are many organizations now that will help working parents. Start a school at your church. Share the responsibilities. Many churches lie empty during the week. There are a lot of elderly people who would make good part time teachers and work for free.
You may think it is impossible, but I know three financially strapped single moms who successfully found a way to take their children out of the public school system. One Mom homeschooled her children. She only had a GED and her children were better educated than the public schools. One single Mom procured a scholarship for her child to go to a private Christian school. Another Mom found a job at a private school and was able to have her child educated there. There are many scholarship programs for those who cannot afford private schools. Start a scholarship program. There are homeschool groups who share teaching responsibilities and curriculum. There are online homeschool programs. Some churches have opened their empty rooms during the week to homeschooling groups. I believe that if you sincerely believe in the welfare of your child’s health, heart, mind and soul you will find a way. Two old adages are true: “Where there is a will there’s a way.” and, “Our children are our future.”
Proverbs 22:6- Train up a child in the way he should go and when he is old, he will not depart from it.
