On a morning bike ride in Florida, I spotted a cool garage door mural featuring a sea turtle and a surfer sharing a wave. I loved it so much that I decided to paint my own version on one of the reclaimed wood pallets I’d collected.
I used acrylic paint to recreate the scene, then sealed it with a thick half-inch layer of clear resin. The resin makes it tough enough for Florida’s weather and gives the surface a glossy, water-like shine.
